So as you probably all noticed, stats are back up and running. Hope you're all enjoying checking out the traffic you're getting on your site!
A lot of you have been asking where you can find the option to change your profile photo. In the last set of changes we made, we really tried to scale back on extra stuff on the site, and apparently we took this out along the way. Oops! We work really quickly here at Uber and we want to get the improvements out to you as they come along, so sometimes a little detail might get missed. Don't worry, it will be back very soon! Sorry about that guys.
Once the profile photo is back up, you can go to My Pages, and in the left column use the option labeled Profile Photo to change your picture.
If there's anything else you guys are missing from the previous version of Uber, let us know and we'll see what we can do about getting that back up there!
We're looking into the problem with Stats right now and we'll have them up and running again ASAP. Don't worry, none of your information has been lost and everything will be restored shortly. Hang in there!
Also, if you notice anything else going on with your account, send it through. We made a bunch of changes last week and we want to make sure you guys are doing ok with the new stuff.
Well we've done it again...last night we revealed the latest Uber homepage and a new logged-in homepage with some easy-to-create page building options. These 3 new tools give you one-click access to create a great looking, fun page in just minutes. You can make a slideshow page, a video page, or a blog page.
For all of you advanced users, everything else on the site is still avaiable for you to use but we will be working on making this more integrated with the new stuff over the next couple weeks.
And that is where you come in. We need to hear from you guys about what you think of the new homepage and the 3 new page-creation options. What else would you like to see here? What's missing? Is it fun? Easy? Let us know!
We know Uber offers a lot of advanced options which are sometimes difficult to use and that is why we're now putting out some simplified tools to get you guys making pages more quickly. Now we just need to hear from you about what else you'd like to see so we can get started working on the next set of things!
A fellow Uber user has posted a great photo tutorial on how do make basic edits to pictures. The blog covers topics like red-eye removal, cropping, skin-retouching and more. This is very useful for those of you doing Photography sites on Uber or anyone interesting in making their pics look the best they can be.
Brooke's blog can be found here. Check it out and leave her a comment. Also, if you have any tutorials on editing and page-building on Uber, please send them through and we can get them featured on the How-To site!
Hey guys, sorry for the outdated how-tos on here. We're working on updating them right now. Please send through any questions you have because I know some of them may be throwing you off! Just post on here on the blog, or click the Message Board tab to post on the boards.
To eliminate any confusion in the mean time, here's a few things to keep in mind: Advanced Edit is just called Edit now. Pages in the upper navigation is now called Website. The Communications module is now the Join Me and Send Message modules.
When we made a major push on the site about 2 weeks ago, some of you may have experienced some problems with comments. We want to let you know that your comments are not lost! If you noticed that your comments are missing, please post a comment here and let me know. We will get them back up on your page right away! Sorry for any confusion there. Hope you guys are loving the new stuff. Please send through any feedback as always! What do you think of all the new changes??
One of Uber’s latest and greatest features is the Blog Importer. You can now import your whole archive from Blogger or WordPress and it will appear in your Blog library in dated folders, according to when the posts were written on your old blog site. This means you can incorporate all of your previous posts into your upgraded Uber blog.
Here’s how to import your blog:
Go to Library and click the Blog tab. Select the Import A Blog button and then choose your blog site from the drop down menu. Enter your login information for that site and then press Import.
It may take a little while for your old posts to show up in your library, but it’ll happen! Once we’re done importing your blog, all of your posts will appear in their dated folders in the left column of your library.
Some of you are wondering where on earth your page background has disappeared to. If you aren't, well just ignore this. Some of you now have a "This content is private" message over a white background being displayed as your background rather than your usual photo. To see if this is happening on your page, logout and visit your page as a guest. If it's not a problem, then you have nothing to worry about.
For those of you who are missing your background, here's how to fix the problem!
Go to your Library and locate the folder that your background and image headers are in. This folder is probably marked private. Click the folder title and the settings will appear in the right column (see below).
Privacy Settings
If your folder says Private here, click the change link and set it to Public. The folder with your background images must be public in order for your background and headers to be viewed on your page. This should solve the disappearing background problem if you're having it! Post questions if you need further help : )
